A Trade with the Devil

A long, long time ago in hell

A trade between two, secretly was made

And this simple man that I have known

To the devil he gave his soul away

The devil seemed extremely pleased

For he thought he got himself quite a deal

What he had not realized until too late

Was that he blindly traded away his zeal

The devil then felt cheated

For many souls he already had

From a simple man he got defeated

And forever bounded his self with this pact

The man he begged to undo the deal

But such power is not easily surrendered

Forever unbroken had become the seal

The trade was made, the Devil submitted

A long, long time ago in heaven

A trade between two, publicly was made

And this simple man that I have known

To God he gave his zeal away...
